The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences

is a public institution that brings together
the most distinguished scientists of Lithuania
and those whose work is connected with Lithuania.
It acts as an independent expert and adviser
to the Seimas, the Government and its subordinate
institutions on matters relating to science
and higher education, culture, social development,
the economy, environmental protection, healthcare,
technology and other issues.
